Dear Praying, Helping Friends:

Greetings in the precious name of Him who loved us and gave Himself for us! (Gal. 2:20)  This is a special edition of the Hungary prayer letter.

This summer, we are looking at our fullest camp season ever.  In Ukraine , we expect to have six camps at our enlarged and improved facilities: One adult camp, two children's camps, two youth camps, and one young couple's camp.  Four of the six are outright evangelism; the other two will be a mix of evangelism and instruction for believers.  In Hungary , we expect to have three camps: One to evangelize children, one to teach the gospel to adults through the medium of English, and one to instruct our church members and give them an opportunity to fellowship with believers from other congregations. (Our four congregations in Hungary live far from one another.)  Finally, in Romania , we expect to have seven camps: Two for children, one for teens, one for young Christians, one for our men and their wives, one on creationism, and one for people 50 years and up (evangelism and instruction).  All told, we plan to have 16 camps in three countries.   Please see below the schedule for all these camps for earnest prayer.  Pray that God by His Spirit would minister His Word to many and use our people to show them the way of salvation!

There is another way you can pray for our work and the growth of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Central & Eastern Europe (RPCCEE).  Most of the adult members in our church are 20 to 35 years of age.  We have very few from the age of 35 to 55.  We have some 55 to 75 years of age, but almost all of these are women.  Consequently, we have very few men who are mature enough to be ruling elders, though in one or two years we hope this will change.  Pray that God would raise up more men in each of our 22 congre-gations.  Pray our congregations will continue to grow in spirit and in number, and that God would do this through the earnest preaching of His Word and the pastoral care they receive.

In Romania , we need you to pray about land and building in two places.  Csaba Zolya labors in faraway Vulkan (southwestern Romania ) with its population of 150,000 souls.  We need $51,000 yet to build some-thing for him and his congregation.  Pray also for Lehel Laszlo in Erdoszentgyorgy (central Romania ).  Lehel has one Gypsy and one Hungarian congregation.  The Gypsies already have a place of worship; we now need something for our Hungarian congregation.  For that, we need a good piece of land at a good price  ($15,000).  And to take advantage of something like that when it appears, we need at least half of this amount in hand.  Here, then, is a summary of our special financial needs at this time:

The operation of 16 summer camps in Ukraine , Hungary , and Romania .                  $4,800

Additional personal support for our men in Romania the next six months.                      $1,000

Land in Erdoszentgyorgy , Romania (half this amount at this time)                                $7,500

Construction in Vulkan (half this amount as soon as possible)                                          $25,500

TOTAL                                                                                                                         $38,800

Finally, let me urge you to contact us if you have any questions about this work.  Many of you have been our helpers and friends for years and understand that, though we are weak and daily wrestle with sin, we labor night and day with tears to see our Lord Jesus' church built in a biblical and spiritual way in the Hungarian lands.  You may not feel it necessary to contact us.  But if you do, know that we are your servants for Jesus' sake.  Our address is below.  My email is rsrapp@epix.net   It is important to us that you know you can contact us at any time about the work.

Thank God, the power to do this work is in Him and His gospel, not us.  All that He requires of us is faith-fulness to Him and to His Word.  Paul said, "And who is sufficient for such a task?" (2 Cor. 3:16)  The answer is: No one.  We cannot overcome spiritual darkness in our own wisdom and strength.  But as we put on the whole armor of God, we will win, and we will see His work prosper in places that were under the grip of unbelief, then Communism, for a century.  PRAY!  And give as you are able.  We have this golden opportunity to bring the gospel to Central & Eastern Europe.  And it is still the power of God unto salvation to all that believe, to the Jew first and also to the Gentile.

Yours in our faithful Lord Jesus,   Bob & Clara Rapp
